West Ham tell Man Utd that Declan Rice is not for sale at any price

West Ham have told Manchester United that Declan Rice is not for sale.

United, who could lose Paul Pogba this summer, have shown an interest in the 20-year-old England midfielder, but West Ham have made it clear they will not consider selling him at any price.

Rice has five years left on his contract and West Ham do not want to lose their best players this summer.

United are also interested in Hammers defender Issa Diop, but have received a similar negative response.

The 22-year-old joined for £22million on a five-year deal last summer and the Hammers insist he is going nowhere.

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini wants to keep Rice and Diop as he looks to strengthen his team for next season in what is an important summer at the London Stadium.

West Ham have signed Spanish midfielder Pablo Fornals for around £24m and they are set to step up their pursuit of Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez after having after an opening £25m bid rejected.

Gomez has a £43.5m release clause in his contract and Celta are set to hold out for that figure this summer. Valencia are also interested in the 22-year-old Uruguay international.
