West Ham United forward Michael Antonio has made a bold prediction about Tottenham.
Jose Mourinho's men have made a solid start to the Premier League season, picking up 11 points from their first six games, just two less than leaders Everton and reigning champions Liverpool.
Spurs haven't been without their issues, struggling defensively at times and suffering a three-goal collapse to draw with West Ham in recent weeks.
But there have been plenty of positives with Mourinho's men looking deadly in attack with Gareth Bale still to come into full fitness following his loan move from Real Madrid in the summer.
And those positives are very much what West Ham striker Antonio focusses on when he suggests no team is 'as close as Tottenham' to a title run based on the North London club's current trajectory.
Asked if Spurs are in the title race, Antonio told ITV's Football Show Podcast: “No question about it.
"No-one has started the season like them. It’s whether they can keep the consistency. The number of goals they have got. The teams they have played.
“Even the three goals against us in the 16 minutes, it was like, they are prolific. If they can continue doing that then, out of all the teams we have played, I don’t see anyone as close as Tottenham so far.”
Spurs bounced back from their West Ham collapse with back-to-back wins across the Premier League and Europa League, first beating LASK in the latter before defeating Burnley in the league on Monday.
Mourinho's men are now looking to continue their good form against Antwerp on Thursday night in Europe before taking on Brighton at home on Sunday night in the Premier League.
