Manuel Lanzini is close to agreeing a new contract with West Ham.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who is in the final year of his deal at the London Stadium, is returning to the good form that he showed before suffering a serious knee injury in May 2018, which ruled him out of the World Cup.
“It was difficult because I could not help the team, but I want to say thank you to my family and all the people who have stayed beside me,” said Lanzini, who has made 111 appearances for the Hammers since joining from United Arab Emirates side Al Jazira in 2016.
“When I started to play again, of course it was difficult at first, but I have come back at the point I needed to to be at 100 per cent on the pitch.”
