West Ham set to sell three stars in bid to raise funds for Said Benrahma transfer

David Moyes will join the battle for Said Benrahma should Brentford fail in their Premier League promotion bid.

The West Ham boss will be given time to build his own team after saving the club from relegation for a second time.

Moyes is set to put a string of the expensive players brought in by his predecessor, Manuel Pellegrini, up for sale to raise funds.

They include £17.5million winger Andriy Yarmolenko, £40million Brazilian Felipe Anderson and £8million striking flop Albian Ajeti.

But he is well aware that there is stiff competition for 24-year-old Benrahma with 17 goals and eight assists for the playmaker this season in the Championship.

The Hammers backed Pellegrini to the tune of around £100million after Moyes kept them up two years ago, only for the club to find themselves back in relegation trouble this season.

Now Moyes has a masterplan to bring down the average age of the squad and, following the success of former Hull striker Jarrod Bowen, will target players from the Championship or proven performers in the Premier League.

After the success of 25-year-old midfielder Tomas Soucek, who arrived in January with Bowen, Moyes retains the confidence of the West Ham hierarchy.

The club are also keen on QPR winger Eberechi Eze with Moyes having watched the England Under-21 forward on a number of occasions.

The 22-year-old signed off for the season in style with a stunning goal, his 14th of the season, in Thursday night’s 2-2 draw with West Brom.

QPR value him at £20million but could take a lower, structured deal in order to allow him to fulfill his dream of playing in the Premier League.
