The Football Association has charged West Ham midfielder Robert Snodgrass with alleged abuse of anti-doping officials.
It is understood Snodgrass, 31, was not the purpose of the officials’ visit to West Ham’s Rush Green training ground on February 6 2019, and therefore the Scottish international did not refuse a test.
The former Hull, Norwich and Aston Villa midfielder, who has made 32 appearances under Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham this season, has until March 18 to respond to the charge.
An FA statement read: “Robert Snodgrass has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3(1).
“It is alleged the player used abusive and/or insulting words towards UK Anti-Doping officials who were visiting West Ham United's training ground on 06 February 2019 to conduct out-of-competition testing.
“He has until 18 March 2019 to respond.”
In August 2018, Bury manager Ryan Lowe was handed a two-match touchline ban and a £1,500 fine by the FA for a similar charge.
Neither West Ham or Snodgrass himself are set to comment on the charge.
