West Ham's Premier League fixture with Liverpool in December set to be moved

West Ham's home Premier League game against Liverpool on December 21 is set to be moved after the dates for the Reds involvement in the FIFA Club World Cup later this year was confirmed.

The tournament will take place in Qatar between December 11 and 21, with the latter date being for the final and third/fourth place play-off matches and that means the fixture against the Hammers will be switched.

FIFA confirmed the dates on Friday for the competition which has eight teams taking part, four of who are confirmed already.

Jurgen Klopp's side are confirmed alongside Mexican side Monterrey, Hienghene Sport of New Caledonia and Qatari outfit Al-Sadd, with the latter two facing off in the play-off match on December 11.

The original tie at London Stadium was set for a 3pm kick off on a Saturday afternoon and may well have been switched for TV coverage in any case but now it almost certainly will be and likely to a midweek in east London in the early stages of 2020.

West Ham's trip to Anfield is slated for February 22 next year.

Liverpool qualified for the tournament in Qatar as a result of winning the Champions League earlier this summer after seeing off Spurs in the final in Madrid.
