The West Ham striker Diafra Sakho escaped unhurt on Monday night after crashing his car into a wall in Essex.

The Senegal international, currently out of action with a thigh injury, appeared to be pictured walking away from his new Lamborghini sports car in Hornchurch after it came off the road and collided with another vehicle before hitting the wall. Twitter user Sophie Engstrom posted four pictures on the social media website on Monday, just minutes after the incident.

“Great night when Sakho drives into your house & car,” she wrote.

“The fact that no one cares that no one was hurt just asking me if he’s injured says a lot about you all,” she later added.

The incident was later confirmed by Sakho, who tweeted: “Thank you for the messages. Was involved in a small car accident this evening. Thankfully no one was hurt.”

Engstrom, whose profile says she is a fashion design student at the London College of Fashion, also later retweeted another user who suggested that she is also an employee of West Ham.

The incident is thought to have taken place outside Nelmes United Reformed Church, in Nelmes Road, Hornchurch. Sakho posted a photo of his new Matte grey Lamborghini on social media a fortnight ago.
