West Ham's big decisions analysed as London Stadium MLB update issued

Here are your morning headlines for Thursday, April 2.

London Stadium headache averted after event cancellation

Major League Baseball has announced that it has cancelled the London Series due to be held in June this year at the home of West Ham.

The event was due to take place on June 13 and 14 at London Stadium, but it has been cancelled as the country attempts to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chicago Cubs and St Louis Cardinals were due to face off over two games later this year following on from the massive success of the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox playing two games to packed crowds in east London in 2019.

Sam Inkersole's Ask Me Anything about West Ham in full

Major League Baseball signed a two-year contract to host two games per year in London. It is unclear how much it costs for the Stadium to be transformed into a baseball field, but it is believed to have required more than £4m to do so last year, which was paid for by the MLB.

If you had bought tickets to the baseball games at London Stadium this summer, you will get a full refund on your ticket.

A look back at West Ham’s major decisions from this season

We’ve likely all played Football Manager or FIFA’s career mode at some stage with a view to fixing our football club and improving on the decisions made by those in charge.

Sam Inkersole did just that for West Ham’s current campaign, and looked at major decisions made by David Gold and David Sullivan, and which ones they might prefer to change if they were given a fresh start. Whether it’s transfer dealings or appointing David Moyes, everything is up for debate.

The best XI of the Gold and Sullivan era

Every West Ham fan has their favourite player, and of late the club have had some special players wear claret and blue.

Marko Arnautovic, Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini are just three of the players that have entertained West Ham fans during the Gold and Sullivan era. Sam Inkersole took a look at the best XI to come during their ownership of the club.

Has your favourite player made it into Sam’s list? There’s only one way to find out. Click on the above link.
