West Ham's away fixture against Leicester City re-scheduled for television coverage

West Ham’s fixture against Leicester City originally slated for October 3 has been pushed back a day to a Sunday lunchtime.

The Hammers fixture against Brendan Rodgers’ side will now kick off at midday on October 4 instead at the King Power Stadium.

That is the only fixture change for David Moyes’ side so far in October having seen all of their matches in September moved for television coverage as games remain behind closed doors.

After the Leicester game, West Ham and the rest of the Premier League will head into an international break.

The Premier League is continuing to show every game on live television up until that weekend. Discussions are set to take place with stakeholders as to whether that will continue after the break.

Fans are not expected to be back in stadiums for around six months after Boris Johnson’s latest coronavirus update following a spike in positive cases in England.

West Ham recorded three positive cases of their own on Tuesday evening prior to their match against Hull City in the Carabao Cup as manager David Moyes, defender Issa Diop and midfielder Josh Cullen all tested positive for Covid-19.

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan told talkSport regaridng the news that rocked the Hammers on Tuesday night: 'What we do in the Premier League, every team we are tested three times a week during pre-season and we are now tested once a week so we were all tested on Monday.

'The results came through at literally 6:30/6:45 last night and unfortunately two of the players tested positive, so the manager had to juggle the the team with who was there and then had to go home and self-isolate, as did the two players.

"And then the whole team will be retested today to see if we have any more casualties. All the players are fine, I mean they have slightly sore throats.

'The manager actually was on fine form this morning, he has had a slight sore throat for a couple of days but he put it down to the fact that he shouts a lot.

"He is a pretty hands on manager, coach and he is on the training pitch, screaming and shouting. And he said look "I do get a sore throat occasionally, so I thought nothing of it". It’s just a minor sore throat and hopefully it doesn’t get worse."
