West Ham's official Twitter account has heaped praise on Liverpool for their achievement at winning the 2019 Champions League after facing Tottenham Hotspur in the final in Madrid.
That's hardly unusual. In the professionally polite world of football club social media interactions, cordial messages to congratulate an opponent are common.
However, the Irons went a bit further in the way they sent thanks to Liverpool - and it didn't take too much effor to read between the lines to know what was really going on with their tweet.
Spurs and West Ham share one of the fiercest rivalries in London football, so much so that fans (and staff at the club too, apparently) had thrown their backing behind the Reds to win the Champions League final.
Chelsea currently boast the only win in the competition among the capital's clubs, and much like Arsenal, the Hammers clearly did not want Tottenham to join the club by beating Liverpool.
On their official Twitter account, West Ham tweeted: "Huge congratulations to LFC on behalf of literally everyone at West Ham United."
Irons fans, and supporters of Arsenal, Liverpool and other clubs, were very happy with the response.
The last time West Ham met Spurs in the Premier League, Manuel Pellegrini's side won 1-0 at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium, becoming the first away team to win a competitive match at the ground.
