West Ham player ratings vs Southampton: Arnautovic clinical and Fredericks superb in 3-0 win

West Ham United signed off their home season in the Premier League with a comfortable 3-0 win over Southampton.

This victory came on the back of a 1-0 success against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur last weekend and means Manuel Pellegrini's side have now managed to keep successive clean sheets in the league for the first time this season.

There could still be a chance to finish in the top half of the table by the time they face Watford in the final game of the campaign next Sunday.

Here's how we rated the Hammers players in their fine win over the Saints.

Lukasz Fabianski - 7

One iffy moment in the first half when he gifted the ball to Shane Long just outside the Hammers 18-yard box. Good save from Redmond after half time, his 145th save of the season. Secured a seventh clean sheet of the campaign.

Ryan Fredericks - 9

Rampaged forward during the first half, barely spent much time defending but when he did, he did it dilligently. Superb second half as well, at both ends of the pitch and thoroughly deserved his with a crisp hit across Fraser Forster. Defensively he didn't miss a beat throughout.

Fabian Balbuena - 7

The General made an important block late in the first half in a solid first 45 minutes. Barely tested after the break, looked solid alongside Diop again much like last week.

Issa Diop - 7

Much like last week, didn't put a foot wrong.  Went about his job with the minimum of fuss. Didn't gave the Saints forwards a sniff and collected a second clean sheet on the spin.

Arthur Masuaku - 8

Defensively solid in the first half. Had a shot from a long way out which went a long, long way over the bar. Tried too many crossfield pings and probably two of them came off but that was the only thing he did wrong. Looked lively and threatening on the ball. Really good performance again from the left back, who is giving Pellegrini plenty to think about this summer.

Pedro Obiang - 8

Assured start to the game despite being absolutely clattered by Hojbjerg early on and got better as the game went on, not a lot got past him. Kept it simple with his passing and made a number of interceptions to boot. Certainly didn't play like someone whose future is in question this summer.

Mark Noble - 8

Outstanding pass into the feet of Arnautovic to dispatch the opener and was excellent again in the first half as he completely dictated proceedings.  One fantastic tackle on 50 minutes prevented a certain goal for Redmond. Second successive game where the skipper has been immense.

Manuel Lanzini - 5

Struggled to get into the game in the opening quarter of an hour despite his teammates best efforts to get him the ball. Had a good chance on the counter but played the wrong pass. Time after time his decision making was poor. Booked.

Grady Diangana - 6

Started the game really well as he attacked Ryan Bertrand and linked fluidly with Arnautovic. Faded badly though as the game progressed and was guilty of giving the ball away far too often in the second half. Worked very hard, needs to get his head up a bit more and look for a teammate. Michail Antonio - 5

Really not much to report in the first half as he couldn't get the better of Jan Valery in an attacking sense. Quiet second half compared to some of his teammates, who were electric in a 20 minute spell towards the end.

Marko Arnautovic  - 8

Started the game like he meant business and was duly rewarded on 16 minutes when he clinically finished off Noble's through ball. Not much to write home about in the second half apart from him scoring the easiest goal of his career from a yard out to make it a brace for the day.  Could have had four.

Substitutes

Jack Wilshere (for Diangana, 67') - 6

Picked up an assist after a clever one-two, found Fredericks who struck sweetly across Forster.

Carlos Sanchez (for Noble, 78') - 5

Made his first appearance since September. Good run out.

Lucas Perez (for Lanzini, 82') - 5

Almost bagged an assist late on as Arnautovic curled just wide.
