West Ham player ratings vs Fulham: Cresswell good, Bowen and Fornals struggle

Lukasz Fabianski

Didn’t have to exert himself too much. Made a few simple saves, especially the 96th minute penalty from Lookman. 7

Vladimir Coufal

Had a tricky customer in Ademola Lookman playing down his flank but handled him well. Got forward at will but crossing was average. 6

Fabian Balbuena

Very jumpy early on but got better as the game went on. Wasn’t fazed by Mitrovic. 6

Angelo Ogbonna

Had a right old scrap with Mitrovic all game but went off injured on 62 minutes, going straight down the tunnel. Booked as well. 6

Aaron Cresswell

His set piece delivery caused Fulham all sorts of problems early on. Pinged a free kick off the crossbar early in the second half. Defensively sound and a threat going forward. West Ham’s best player. 8

Arthur Masuaku

The Birthday Boy. Defensively he was worse than he has been recently and like Coufal, his crossing from wide areas wasn’t good enough. 6

Declan Rice

Uncharacteristically gave the ball away on numerous occasions in the first half. Better after the break but didn’t really have a big influence on the game. 6

Tomas Soucek

Couldn’t get on the ball a lot and cut a frustrated figure as a result. His trademark runs into the box were not met with quality crosses from his teammates. But he popped up with the all important winner late on. 7

Jarrod Bowen

Forced a great save from Areola early on but struggled to get into the game at all. Not been at the races since the Leicester game. 5

Pablo Fornals

Harrison Reed of Fulham is challenged by Pablo Fornals of West Ham (Julian Finney/Getty Images)

Played more centrally. Passing was very sloppy throughout and had one of his worst games for a few weeks. Subbed off with 20 minutes left. 5

Sebastien Haller

Saw a header hit the bar in the opening ten minutes, held the ball up well enough but wasn’t particularly involved. That said, some of the service to him was awful. 6

Substitutes

Issa Diop (for Ogbonna, 62’)

Made is first appearance since testing positive for covid-19 in mid-September. Did OK. 6

Said Benrahma (for Fornals 70’)

Constantly demanded the ball, dropped deep to get it. Denied twice by Areola from a tight angle. Bagged the assist for Soucek's winner. Then gave away the penalty late on. Quite the cameo. 7

Manuel Lanzini (for Bowen 70’)

Tried to make things happen and offered more creativity when he was on the pitch. 6
