Lukasz Fabianski - Nothing of note to do in the first half, a rare flap early in the second but otherwise a solid game with little to do. 6
Vladimir Coufal - Nothing new to say about Coufal, he is an excellent defensive full-back, was up against the quick Ademola Lookman, and did a good job keeping up with the fast wide-man. Came very close to opening his Hammers account but hit the bar with his header. 6
Craig Dawson - Made an important block in the first half to stop a goal-bound effort, looked steady and assured throughout. 6
Angelo Ogbonna - Gave away a dangerous free-kick but otherwise another solid performance from the Italian centre-back. 6
Aaron Cresswell - His cross in the first-half deserved to be tapped home but it just eluded the onrushing Jarrod Bowen. Defensively solid and always a danger with the ball at his left foot. 6
Declan Rice - West Ham's best performer, so calm on the ball, a wonderful cross for Coufal who could only hit the bar. A first-half interception and the way he glided past two midfielders was an example of his class. 7
Tomas Soucek - Not the Czech's best game, should have at least hit the target with a first-half header, the type of chance you expect him to bury. Late red card after a long VAR check for violent conduct after Mike Dean decides it was violent conduct, very harsh call. 6
Jarrod Bowen off 57 - Was close to getting onto the end of a Cresswell cross but otherwise offered little in an attacking capacity. No surprise to see him subbed off early. 5
Jesse Lingard - A very different performance from his debut. Did not have anywhere near as much room or possession as at Villa Park, looked dangerous on occasion when running at the defence and a lovely flick almost set Rice free. 6
Said Benrahma off 57 - Quiet evening for the Algerian, saw very little of the ball and was unable to affect the game in any meaningful way, 5
Michail Antonio off 74 - Not his best game, found it hard to get involved. No chances came his way and he saw little of the ball. 5
West Ham subs:
Noble on 57 - Had very little involvement during his time on the pitch. 6
Yarmolenko on 57 - Began on the right and then moved into Antonio's role but had little impact in his 30 plus minutes on the pitch other than to get caught offside a couple of times. 6
Fredericks on 74 - Played in the same position as against Aston Villa, directly in-front of Coufal. Defended well in the closing stages. 6
