West Ham player ratings vs Everton: Coufal, Ogbonna and Dawson shine as Soucek secures victory

Darren Randolph - The biggest compliment you can pay the Irishman is Fabianski was not missed. Had trouble with his kicking in the first half but was never really troubled and dealt with the odd highball well. 7

Vladimir Coufal - Excellent game for the full-back. Richarlison and Bernard both popped up on his wing and neither Brazilian got a sniff out of him. 8

Craig Dawson - 180 minutes of football for West Ham, zero goals conceded. Strong in the air and is forming an excellent partnership with Ogbonna at the heart of the defence. Strange moment in the first-half where he seemed to injure himself without doing anything. 8

Angelo Ogbonna - Another excellent showing from the Italian. Won everything in the air, commanded the defence well and kept a very good striker in Calvert-Lewin quiet. Worthy man of the match. 8

David Moyes press conference after West Ham 2-2 Brighton

Aaron Cresswell - Part of a very solid back four, got forward well from time to time. Good delivery from set-pieces as we have come to expect and it was his ferocious effort that fell into the path of Souček for the only goal of the game. 7

Tomas Souček - Not the Czech’s best game for West Ham, but scored the winning goal thanks to persistence and quick feet. 7

Declan Rice - Reasonably quiet game from the captain. Broke up play well, retained possession nicely particularly in the second half, and kept both Sigurdsson and James quiet, no mean feat. 7

Jarrod Bowen - Lots of energy but no real quality today. Shot when the pass was on, passed when the shot was on. Surprised he lasted 73 minutes. 5

Pablo Fornals - Missed a great headed chance in the second half and offered little as an attacking threat until that point. Quiet game for the Spaniard. 6

Said Benrahma - Lots of running and effort but unable to show his undoubted creative abilities. Started and finished a league game for West Ham for the first time, better things to come. 6

Sebastian Haller - Offered little as an attacking threat, but in his defence was given very little service in an extremely quiet first half. The one chance he did have, he was unable to get his shot away. With Antonio back his gametime could well be limited in the coming matches. 6

Subs:

Michail Antonio on 59’ - After only five minutes on the pitch he managed to get a good shot off that Pickford saved. Gave the Everton centre-backs a rougher ride than Haller and showed a good willingness to run at the defence. 7

Andriy Yarmolenko on ‘73 - Tracked back well upon his entrance to the game, sloppy flick in the attacking third could have been costly on the Everton counter-attack. 6

Manuel Lanzini on ‘73 - Did not really affect the game, good energy but did not have a huge involvement. 6
