West Ham player ratings vs Everton as Coufal and Fornals impress in disappointing defeat

Lukasz Fabianski - No blame for Everton's opening goal, and his usual solid performance. Vocal throughout and one double save from Richarlison, in particular, kept the Hammers in the match. 6

Vladimir Coufal - A couple of superb crosses that threatened the Everton defence and a solid effort as is to be expected from the Czech right-back. Came within the width of the post of scoring in the second half after a fine effort. 7

Issa Diop - Won a number of important headers and interceptions, a marked improvement from his performance against Burnley. His pace was key in covering for Dawson on a number of occasions. 6

Craig Dawson - A poor game for the centre-back, beaten in the air too often by Dominic Calvert-Lewin and did not give himself enough space to keep up with the striker as he sprinted past him for his first-half goal. 5

Aaron Cresswell off 59 - Under-hit a number of deliveries which is unusual for the normally reliable left-back. Looked to be struggling with a knock for part of the second half and was subsequently taken off after failing to recover. 6

Tomas Soucek - The Czech midfielder was dominant in the air at Everton set-pieces with a number of vital clearances. Broke-up play well in a very open game, tracked a run for fully 60 yards to win the ball back for his team, an excellent summary of his work-rate and desire. 6

Manuel Lanzini off 43 - Substituted just before half-time with what looked like a hamstring injury. A big blow to the Hammers as he was playing well in the deep-lying midfield role. 6

Pablo Fornals - West Ham's best player as the game wore on, took on Lanzini's playmaker role and passed the ball nicely to keep the Hammers attacks moving. 7

Said Benrahma off 73 - Not up to his Burnley standards, poor decision making and a terrible miss in the first half from the Algerian. A frustrating afternoon for the attacking-midfielder. 5

Jesse Lingard - A quieter than usual game from Lingard, poor set-pieces and did not have his shooting radar on today. 5

Michail Antonio - The striker kept drifting wide left, leaving the middle unoccupied and taking away from West Ham's central attacking threat. Was far more effective when playing through the middle. 5

Subs

Jarrod Bowen on 43 - Missed a glorious chance to make it 1-1 after Coufal hit the post. Bowen failed to make a good connection with the goal gaping, a very costly miss. 5

Ryan Fredericks on 59 - Offered little going forward after coming on and moving to right-back. 6

Andriy Yarmolenko on 73 - Hard to blame the Ukrainian for having no effect on the game when he was never given the ball. 6
