West Ham player ratings vs Crystal Palace: Nayef Aguerd has a nightmare as Declan Rice is frustrated

West Ham are still nervously looking over their shoulder at the bottom of the Premier League after they were beaten 4-3 by Crystal Palace.

Here’s how David Moyes rated at Selhurst Park...

Lukasz Fabianski 5

Will be annoyed to be beaten at near-post by Ayew but not much he could have done about the other three.

Vladimir Coufal 5

Sloppy in possession but less culpable than the rest of the backline.

Kurt Zouma 4

Let Ayew run off him for the equaliser and got injured trying to block the shot. Forced off after 19 minutes.

Nayef Aguerd 3

Really poor afternoon. Gave Soucek a pass he probably didn’t want but Czech should still have done better. Missed chance to clear in lead to Zaha goal, then conceded a soft penalty. Gets a mark back for his goal.

Emerson 3

Overrun by Olise down his flank and dragged at the break, though his corner did lead to Antonio’s header. Too easily exposed in a back-four.

Tomas Soucek 6

A real rollercoaster. Scored his first goal since August, gifted Palace their third, then flicked to set up both Antonio and Aguerd goals.

Declan Rice 5

Looked a frustrated figure but was well below his own best, despite some nice carries.

Lucas Paqueta 5

Came in on a run of three goals in three games but struggled to influence the game and sacrificed as Hammers went chasing.

Jarrod Bowen 6

Quieter than of late as Mitchell did well but set-piece deliveries created two goals.

Michail Antonio 6

Sharp to head in at back-post and head the ball up well.

Pablo Fornals 5

Deserved a start after his goalscoring cameo at Bournemouth but only made it as far as half-time before being replaced.

Substitutes

Angelo Ogbonna (Zouma 19’) 4

Rushed on after Zouma’s early injury and immediately had ball crossed through his legs for Zaha’s goal.

Aaron Cresswell (Emerson 46’) 6

Made a notable difference in nullifying Olise.

Said Benrahma (Fornals 46’) 5

Danny Ings (Paqueta 69’) 5

Maxwel Cornet (Antonio 89’) N/A

Unused: Areola, Kehrer, Lanzini, Downes.
