Roberto – Made a couple of decent saves to keep the score at 0-0 but will be disappointed with the goal he conceded. Lys Mousset’s strike was a tame one and although well directed into the far corner, maybe one which should have been kept out. 7
Pablo Zabaleta – The right back had a steady game after he was handed a rare start for the Hammers. He wasn’t easily beaten and got tight to wing back Enda Stevens on several occasions, forcing him back. The Argentine got forward when he could but didn’t produce enough quality in the final third. 6
Issa Diop – Looked calm and composed on the ball without regular central defensive partner Angelo Ogbonna. Didn’t really put a foot wrong. 6
Fabián Balbuena – Staked a claim for a place in the starting 11 next week with an assured performance. 6
Aaron Cresswell – Struggled at times with his defensive positioning. He left George Baldock free on a number of occasions and against a better opponent his mistakes may have been punished. 5
Declan Rice – Did what Declan Rice always does and mopped up in front of the back line nicely. Tested Henderson from range with a decent effort. 6
Mark Noble – Failed to penetrate the Sheffield United back line with pin-point passes but didn’t give the ball away on too many occasions. Generally played safe. 6
Robert Snodgrass – West Ham’s best player. He was given a free role by Pellegrini and he repaid the faith his manager put in him. Took his goal well and unlucky not to score another. 8
Andriy Yarmolenko – Found himself in some decent areas but failed to punish Sheffield United. Tested Henderson with a left-footed curler. 7
Felipe Anderson – This wasn’t the game in which Anderson returned to form. He lacked confidence and should have done better on a number of occasions. 6
Sébastien Haller – Was left very isolated. Held the ball up well – like he always does – but failed to really get into the game. 6
