West Ham news: Fabianski injury boost, Manuel Pellegrini's future and Chelsea changes

Things have taken a downward turn for West Ham and Manuel Pellegrini.

Since the high of comfortably beating Manchester United 2-0 back in September, the Hammers have failed to win a game, picking up just two Premier League points, while also crashing out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of Oxford United.

The latest disappointment came in a 3-2 loss against Jose Mourinho's Tottenham at the London Stadium. A late fight back wasn't enough for the Hammers to salvage anything from the game.

The form has seen West Ham slip down the Premier League table.

Maunuel Pellegrini's side have a tough test in their next outing as they face fourth place Chelsea, but the team know that a win will give them a much needed confidence boost.

As the team prepare for the game, here is the latest news from the London Stadium.

Fabianski injury boost

West Ham's poor run of form has coincided with the injury to goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

The Polish international has been out of action with a hip injury since being withdrawn in the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth in September, and the Hammers have failed to pick up all three points in the Premier League since.

Fabianski has been replaced by Spanish goalkeeper Roberto, but his performances have come under major criticism.

But, in what could be a major boost to the Hammers, a video on social media appears to show first choice Fabianski back in light training.

Maunuel Pellegrini's future

The poor run of form has seen the Hammers drop from challenging towards the top six of the league to looking over their shoulder.

The defeat to Spurs leaves the Iron in 16th place in the table, just three points above the relegation zone.

six defeats in their last seven games have caused questions to be asked of manager Manuel Pellegrini, with the Chilean among the favourite Premier League managers to be the next to see the door.

Names such as Sean Dyche, Chris Wilder and Eddie Howe have already been linked to replace the former Manchester City boss.

Chelsea changes

If West Ham hope to turn their form around, before being dragged into a relegation fight, then they need to pick up points as soon as possible. However, Pellegrini's men face a tough task if they wish to take maximum points in their next game.

The Hammers face in form Chelsea, who won their last six games before narrowly losing to reigning Champions Manchester City on Saturday.

The poor form may force Pellegrini's hands with changes possibly on the horizon ahead of the game at Stamford Bridge.
