Why Pablo Fornals was absent from West Ham's matchday squad

Pablo Fornals is not a part of the matchday squad for West Ham's Premier League game at the Etihad.

The Spanish midfielder has struggled for game time since David Moyes took over in east London at the back end of last year to replace Manuel Pellegrini as manager.

Fornals has started just two of the six previous Premier League games since the Scot took over, one of those was his very first one back against Bournemouth.

David Moyes makes Jarrod Bowen admission before Man City clash

West Ham manager David Moyes has admitted he might have given Jarrod Bowen his debut already if it wasn't for the club's challenging fixture list.

The 23-year-old arrived in East London for a £22m fee from Hull City on Deadline Day in the January transfer window but had to wait until the second half against Manchester City to make his Hammers debut off the bench.

However, before the match at the Etihad Stadium, he admitted that the former Hull man could have been closer to a debut if the Hammers had a kinder fixture schedule. Read here
