West Ham confirm Roberto's loan deal to Alaves
West Ham have confirmed goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez has joined Alaves on loan until the end of the season after a torrid six-month stay in east London.
The error-prone keeper has returned to Spain for the rest of the campaign, and football.london understands the deal is a chance to put himself in the shop window with no future for him in the capital.
Roberto joined the Hammers on a two-year deal last summer and was a recruit of former director of football Mario Husillos but endured a disastrous time when he deputised for Lukasz Fabianski.
The Pole was ruled out for four months with a hip injury and Roberto stepped in, However, he committed a number of high profile errors as West Ham went on a run of two wins in 12 games. Roberto played in eight of them, which ultimately would cost Manuel Pellegrini his job as manager.
West Ham 'bid' for Berge
According to Football Insider , West Ham have made a bid for Genk midfielder Sander Berge.
A source attributed in the report claims: “Any more deals are set to come later in the window when selling clubs make final decisions on whether to let their players go and at what price.
“Following the departure of former director of football Mario Husillos, West Ham’s recruitment for this window is being spearheaded once again by co-owner David Sullivan.
“He is working with various favoured agents on negotiations for multiple targets, with bids in for the likes of Stoke City’s Joe Allen and Genk’s Sander Berge.”
West Ham eye Embarba
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, West Ham are interested in signing Rayo Vallecano winger Adri Embarba this month.
The report claims the Hammers could have to beat off competition from a host of clubs including Norwich and Leeds if they want to seal a deal for the midfielder.
