Nottingham Forest will have to lower their expectations if they’re to sell Matty Cash to Premier League West Ham United, it has been claimed.
Interest has surged in Cash after a stellar season at the City Ground playing on the right side of defence under Sabri Lamouchi, with the Hammers one of a number of clubs tracking the 23-year-old.
Forest are understood to want significantly more than the £10m David Moyes’ Londoners have offered so far, with the Mirror claiming they are not prepared to stump up the extra £5m the Championship side would want to do business.
The Hammers’ Premier League rivals Sheffield United have already seen a £10m bid knocked back by Forest.
Cash, currently away on holiday, is looking forward to returning to training at the Nigel Doughty Academy as boss Lamouchi prepares a second assault on securing promotion, and has no intention of forcing through a move to the top flight, despite being keen to test himself at that level.
The defender’s teammate, Joe Worrall, is another ex-academy graduate linked with a move away from the club.
Burnley and Southampton are two of the clubs keen on Worrall, who made 48 appearances in the Championship last term.

On the incoming front, Lamouchi secured his first signing of the summer on Tuesday with the arrival of Jack Colback.
Colback played under Aitor Karanka and Martin O’Neill at Forest before returning to Newcastle last summer, before leaving in June after his contract expired.
