West Ham headlines as Championship stars linked, Moyes interested in Barkley and Batshuayi

Here are the West Ham headlines on Saturday, June 6.

Hammers eye Eze and Benrahma

Brentford’s Said Benrahma and Queens Park Rangers’ Eberechi Ez have been touted to follow in Jarrod Bowen’s footsteps and make the step-up from the Championship to West Ham.

London Football News cite an anonymous and unverified “ex-West Ham employee” on Twitter that suggests West Ham are considering the two wide attackers.

Benrahma topped the assist charts, registering 14, in the Championship last season and is having another impressive campaign for Brentford.

The 24-year-old Algerian has scored 10 goals and set up a further seven goals this season on the left of Brentford’s highly-rated front three.

Meanwhile, Greenwich-born QPR academy graduate Eze is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in the second tier. The 21-year-old has 12 goals and a further eight assists this season and has been heavily linked with a move away this summer.

Karren Brady gives insight into Premier League return

West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady has given more details of how the Premier League’s Project Restart will work in practice, with the remainder of the season set to be played out from June 17 after a three-month suspension.

Brady has given details of the “red, amber and green zones” system in her latest column for The Sun.

"We are now in the process of agreeing the matchday protocols, which will include everything from zoning the stadium into red, amber and green zones," she wrote.

"Red zone will be the most severely restricted area, including the pitch, the tunnel, technical areas, changing rooms will be limited to 105 people maximum, to include players, coaching staff, match officials and all the essential staff only.

"And only those who have tested negative for Covid-19 in the past five days can enter this area.

"We will be creating a Clinical Passport System for those who will need to have access to the red zone.

"The amber zone will be restricted to the minimum number of staff required to meet contractual requirements for broadcasting, media and club staff.”

Moyes interested in Chelsea duo as Blues plot clearout

West Ham could be set to bid for two Chelsea players as Frank Lampard looks to overhaul his squad at Stamford Bridge this summer, per Hammers.news.

It’s been widely reported that RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has sealed a move to Chelsea, which will leave Belgian international Michy Batshuayi further down the pecking order and free to leave.

It’s previously been reported that the Hammers have a “long-standing interest” in Batshuayi’s signature, while Ross Barkley - who was given his Everton debut by David Moyes back in 2010 - is also on their radar.

The Mirror reported back in January that Moyes was looking to mount an audacious bid for the England international during the winter transfer window, and it may be one they revisit in the summer.
