West Ham handed huge Tomas Soucek injury boost ahead of Arsenal clash

West Ham have been handed a big, potential injury boost ahead of the game with Arsenal today (Saturday).

The Hammers make the short trip across London for the derby with the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium looking to build on their impressive 3-1 win against Southampton last time out.

The result moved West Ham out of the Premier League relegation zone, but only on goal difference, with things tight at the bottom of the table.

David Moyes takes his side to Arsenal and a meeting with his former player Mikel Arteta, whom he had at Everton.

Arsenal v West Ham: Mikel Arteta press conference

Arsenal go into the game having secured safe passage through to the FA Cup quarter-finals on Monday night, thanks to a 2-0 win over League One side Portsmouth.

And they have looked much better since Arteta arrived to take the reins.

The Hammers will need to be at their best to try and pick up all three points from the encounter, and Moyes has been handed a timely boost in terms of injuries.

Loan star Tomas Soucek could play a part in the clash at the Emirates following a hip flexor injury that kept him out of the win over Southampton.

Moyes said during his pre-match press conference: "We are getting much closer to a full squad. Soucek is doing very well and is close to being match fit, very close to it now and he has recovered very quickly. Yarmolenko is back training so we are very close.

"Tomas has got a very good chance for this weekend."
