West Ham fans given boost after Premier League decision over Brighton and West Brom fixtures

West Ham's games against Brighton and Hove Albion and West Bromwich Albion have been rescheduled in order to allow fans back into the stadiums.

The move will allow fans to attend two matches before the end of the season, with each Premier League club playing one game in front of their own crowd before the campaign is over.

The Hammers' away trip to Brighton will now take place on Saturday, May 15 at 20:00 BST live on Sky Sports in the UK, a move that will allow West Ham's trip to West Brom to potentially be played in front of a crowd at The Hawthorns.

No date has been confirmed for the trip to West Brom, but it will be on either May 18 or 19, with the BBC reporting that there is the potential for 500 West Ham fans to make the trip to support their team.

The Hammers' final game of the season will see David Moyes' team take on Southampton at the London Stadium at 16:00 BST on Sunday, May 23.

Up to 10,000 supporters are expected to be allowed into the ground to watch the Hammers potentially end their season with a European spot.

With five matches to go West Ham are just three points shy of fourth-placed Chelsea ahead of this weekend's set of fixtures.

The Hammers' match against Burnley on Monday night is the final match of the bank holiday weekend and West Ham could potentially go into the game in eighth place depending on how the results across the weekend pan out.

Just six points separate Everton in eight and Chelsea in fourth and Moyes is hoping to take West Ham's European challenge down to the 'last game of the season' in front of a home crowd.

The boss is still aiming for Champions League football next season but is delighted with being in fifth spot with five games to play.

"If somebody had said to me 'you are fifth in the league with five games to go' at the start I would have said 'thanks very much,'" Moyes said.

"I would have liked to have been fourth, I would have liked to have won last week or the week before, which might have kept us fourth, but overall we are in a good place. We are excited by the games coming up and to take on the challenges and see where we end up."

The manager added: "I am still really hoping we can get into the big one, but if we don't I would settle for whatever else comes next."
