West Ham dismiss reports of £50m Chelsea bid for Declan Rice

West Ham remain adamant Declan Rice is not for sale amid strong interest from Chelsea.

The Hammers have dismissed reports they have received a £50million bid for Rice from Chelsea and are determined to keep hold of the England international.

Frank Lampard has identified Rice as one of his top summer targets, seeing him as a possible centre-back option to strengthen the Chelsea defence.

West Ham, like most clubs facing the harsh financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic, may sell players to raise cash this summer but they do not want to lose Rice. David Moyes has said he sees the 21-year-old, contracted until 2024, as a key part of his plans.

Meanwhile, West Ham forward Albian Ajeti is closing in on a permanent switch to Celtic.

The 23-year-old Switzerland international struggled after being signed by Manuel Pellegrini for £8m last summer and failed to score in 12 appearances last season.
