West Ham "disgusted" by social media video of alleged anti-semitic chants before Man Utd loss

West Ham have promised to dish out life bans and have strongly condemned a group of apparent West Ham fans chanting anti-Semitic chants before their away defeat at Manchester United.

The video did the rounds on social media on Saturday morning and has forced the club to release a statement in which they say the club is "disgusted" by what they have seen.

The Hammers have promised to hand out life bans at the London Stadium to any fans identified in the vidoe and they will also be barred from travelling to future away games.

In a very strongly-worded statement from the club on Saturday evening, they said: "We are disgusted by the contents of the video circulating on social media on Saturday evening.

Every word as Pellegrini keeps calm at three costly decisions in West Ham's defeat to Man Utd

"We are taking immediate action to try to identify the offenders, whose details we will be handing over to the police and will be banned for life from London Stadium and from travelling with the Club.

"West Ham United is unequivocal in its stance – there is no place for this kind of behaviour at our Club.

"We do not want people like this associated with West Ham. They are not welcome at our Club, they are not welcome in civilised society."

Match of the Day running order confirmed for Spurs, Man United, Fulham, West Ham and more

This comes off the back of a joint-investigation between Chelsea and Liverpool after another video emerged earlier this week of Blues supporters chanting alleged racism towards Reds forward Mohammed Salah.
