Here is your West Ham United morning digest for Friday, June 5.
Bruce tips “magic” Wilshere to transform career
Former Premier League defender Alex Bruce has tipped West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere to transform his career as he returns to fitness.
Wilshere has undoubted talent but has had an injury-ridden career, and his time at the Hammers has been no different.
However, the ex-Arsenal star is back now and Bruce believes he can change his fortunes under David Moyes.
When asked by Football Insider if he could save his career, Bruce said: “When you’ve got ability like Jack Wilshere has, of course.
“He can unlock any defence with his ability around the box, passing assists, unlocking defences with his ability. As long as he can stay fit we’ve seen over the years what he’s capable of.
“That little bit of magic that Jack Wilshere has can be vital come the end of the season so I’m sure he’ll be a big plus if he’s fit.”
First three Irons fixtures announced
West Ham will restart their Premier League season with a home match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, June 20.
The game will kick-off at 5.30pm, before the Irons make the short trip to Tottenham Hotspur just three days later.
It’s another London derby for Moyes’ side then, as they welcome Chelsea to the London Stadium on Wednesday, 1 July, with an 8.15pm kick-off.
The Premier League will commence with Aston Villa taking on Sheffield United, before Manchester City host Arsenal later on in the same evening on June 17.
Hammers predicted XI for Wolves game
As West Ham prepare for their first game in three months, football.london’s Alex Keble has predicted the XI that Moyes will field against Wolves.
However, there is no place for striker Sebastien Haller in Keble’s XI but there is a return to action for Ryan Fredericks and Andriy Yarmolenko.
Keble has opted with a 4-2-3-1 formation, with this side: Lucasz Fabianski, Arthur Masuaku, Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop, Angelo Ogbonna, Declan Rice, Mark Noble, Pablo Fornals, Andriy Yarmolenko, Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio.
