West Ham defender Arthur Masuaku signs long-term contract extension until 2024

Arthur Masuaku has put pen to paper on a long-term contract extension at West Ham.

The DR Congo international left-back is now committed to West Ham until the summer of 2024, with the club retaining the right to extend the deal by a further two years.

Masuaku joined the Hammers from Greek giants Olympiacos in 2016 and has gone on to make 75 appearances, including 23 in the Premier League last term.

His only goal to date for West Ham came in the 3-0 EFL Cup victory over Bolton Wanderers in September 2017.

“I am very happy and very proud,” Masuaku said. “For me it was an easy decision.

"The club wanted me to stay and so I didn’t even need to think about it – it was just a matter of time.

"Now I am looking forward to the Premier League season and giving my all for this club I love.

“It hasn’t been an easy road for me since I first arrived at the club but I have always been positive and I hope and I think that the future is bright for West Ham, and hopefully for me and the team.

"I am very excited, and happy to be a part of things here. The manager has been very good to me and I hope now I can repay his faith."
