West Ham debutant Pablo Fornals challenged to help record signing Sebastien Haller succeed

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini was delighted to hand club-record signing Sebastien Haller his debut in the narrow friendly win over Fulham on Saturday.

The Hammers completed the £45million signing of Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt earlier in July and he was thrown in alongside fellow debutant Pablo Fornals at Craven Cottage.

The pair impressed as Manuel Lanzini's impressive strike handed the visitors a narrow 1-0 victory over their Championship hosts.

The Hammers now face Hertha Berlin and Athletic Bilbao before starting their Premier League campaign at home against Manchester City on August 10.

And Pellegrini has challenged Fornals to help Haller make a success of his West Ham career.

"Of course, I'm happy to see Haller out there. It's his first game; he's new and I think also for other new players like Pablo Fornals, and Andriy Yarmolenko who is coming back," Pellegrini told West Ham's official website.

"In them, I think we have creative players who can give to Haller, to Chicharito, to Antonio, during the game. And then they must score."
