West Ham confirmed 11: David Moyes makes nine changes to face Silkeborg as Nayef Aguerd returns

West Ham United boss David Moyes has named his side to face Silkeborg at the London Stadium.

The Hammers will look to secure top spot in Group B with a game to spare this evening, which would seal a place in the Round of 16 in March, bypassing the play-off knockout round. They just need to avoid defeat this evening to do so.

As the Irons aim to make it seven straight wins in this competition, Moyes has made nine changes to face Silkeborg from the side that beat Bournemouth 2-0 less than 72 hours ago.

In goal, Alphonse Areola returns in place of Lukasz Fabianski, hoping to continue his impressive run of performances going in this competition.

Having won a penalty with his late cross against the Cherries, Vladimir Coufal comes back into the starting side as a right wing-back, with West Ham moving back to a three-man defence as they have done in this competition for much of the season.

Centre-back Nayef Aguerd is in the squad for the first time since his £30million summer move from Stade Rennais and starts at centre-back, having missed over three months with an ankle injury. Angelo Ogbonna and Ben Johnson play alongside him, with Coufal and Emerson as wing-backs.

There is a start for Conor Coventry in midfield next to Manuel Lanzini, with Pablo Fornals and Michail Antonio joining Said Benrahma in a three-man attack, with only Benrahma and Johnson keeping their places from the win over Bournemouth.

Thilo Kehrer, Kurt Zouma, Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek, Flynn Downes, Gianluca Scamacca and Aaron Cresswell all drop to the bench. Young duo Keenan Forson and Freddie Potts also make the bench.

Midfielder Lucas Paqueta (collarbone), centre-back Craig Dawson (leg) and winger Maxwel Cornet (calf) all remain sidelined.

West Ham United starting XI : Alphonse Areola, Ben Johnson, Nayef Aguerd, Angelo Ogbonna; Vladimir Coufal, Conor Coventry, Manuel Lanzini, Emerson; Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals; Michail Antonio

Substitutes: Darren Randolph, Krisztian Hegyi, Kurt Zouma, Thilo Kehrer, Aaron Cresswell, Tomas Soucek, Declan Rice, Flynn Downes, Keenan Forson, Freddie Potts, Gianluca Scamacca
