West Ham have completed an early deadline-day signing in the form of Albian Ajeti.

The Swiss striker has signed a four-year contract at London Stadium with an option to extend for a further two seasons.

West Ham are believed to have paid FC Basel £8million for Ajeti, who will wear the No27 shirt.

He follows Goncalo Cardoso, Pablo Fornals, Sebastien Haller, David Martin and Roberto as the sixth signing made by the Hammers so far this summer.

“I’m very excited to be here," Ajeti said. "It is a pleasure for me to be here, at this big club.

“Once I felt West Ham’s interest, I didn’t have to think twice about signing for such a big, traditional club in the Premier League.

"This is a big day for me and my family.”Director of football Mario Husillos added: “We are very happy to welcome Albian to West Ham United. He is another very young player who we believe can have a big future at the club."

Ajeti could be in contention to make his debut on Saturday as West Ham open the new Premier League season with a tough fixture against defending champions Manchester City.
