West Ham confirm Ryan Fredericks hamstring injury; full-back expected to return after international break

West Ham will be without Ryan Fredericks until at least after the international break after the full-back suffered a hamstring injury against Wolves.

Fredericks was replaced by Ben Johnson shortly after half time in the Hammers' 4-0 win over Wolves at the London Stadium.

The 27-year-old underwent a scan on Monday and will miss this week's Carabao Cup visit to Everton and Sunday's trip to Leicester.

"Ryan felt discomfort in his left hamstring while supporting an attack during Sunday’s win and was unable to carry on," West Ham head of medical, Richard Collinge, said.

"He underwent a preliminary examination on Sunday evening before undergoing a scan at hospital on Monday afternoon.

"The results of that scan confirmed our initial prognosis and he has already begun a programme of rehabilitation.

"Should everything go to plan, we hope Ryan will be available for selection again after the October international break."

The Hammers are still keen to add at least one full-back before the transfer window closes on October 5.
