West Ham confirm Robert Snodgrass transfer to West Bromwich Albion

West Bromwich Albion have confirmed the signing of Robert Snodgrass from West Ham for an undisclosed fee in a deal that was confirmed by David Gold on Friday afternoon.

The former Scotland international spent four years with the Hammers, making 86 appearances, scoring 11 and assisting 17 goals in that time.

Snodgrass has been out of favour this season playing only four minutes of Premier League football and will join former Hammers manager Sam Allardyce at The Hawthorns. Gold wished Snodgrass well with his move tweeting:

"Documentation has been completed for the permanent transfer of Robert Snodgrass to West Bromwich Albion. Good luck Robert. dg".

West Ham players to be given a break after win at Everton

Snodgrass is the second high profile departure from West Ham on Friday with club-record signing Sébastien Haller joining the Scot through the exit door. Haller signed for Dutch giants Ajax in a deal worth €22.5 million (£20.26m).

Gold was not so warm with his wishes to Haller simply writing the facts of his time at West Ham:

"I can confirm Sébastien Haller has joined Ajax on a permanent basis. The Ivory Coast international ends his stay with the Hammers after making 54 appearances in all competitions and scoring 14 goals following his summer 2019 arrival from German club Eintracht Frankfurt. dg

David Moyes will be hoping the board reinvest the transfer fees on some incoming players as the club currently only have 22 senior first-team players available to them.

Snodgrass was reported to earn a £43,000-a-week salary, while Haller was receiving in the region of £115,000-a-week, whether Moyes will receive that money to spend on new singings is still yet to be seen.
