West Ham have announced that Kevin Nolan has joined the club's backroom staff as David Moyes finally bolsters his coaching team six weeks after coming back to the club.
The former Hammers captain scored 31 goals in 157 games for the club between 2011 and 2015 and has been joined in east London by Paul Nevin, a former Brighton and Norwich City coach, initially on contracts until the end of the season.
Nolan has had spells at Leyton Orient and Notts County as player-manager in recent years, but has now linked up with the Hammers again, four-and-a-half years after he left the club by mutual consent.
Moyes has only had trusted lieutenant Alan Irvine to work alongside him since returning to the club after Stuart Pearce and Billy McKinlay, who were with the Scot last time around, didn't join up with him this time.
In October 2018, Nevin was invited by Gareth Southgate to join his England coaching staff and he remained with the Three Lions through to their third-place finish at the 2019 UEFA Nations League finals.
Under-23s coach Dimitri Halajko had been helping out on matchdays with Moyes' staff but is now expected to solely focus on the youngsters and their promotion push in PL2 division two.
Another former Hammer, Joe Cole, has recently been linked with a return to West Ham, but that has failed to materialise.
Nolan and Nevin started work at Rush Green this morning alongside Moyes, Irvine and goalkeeper coach Xavi Valero to prepare the players for their trip to Man City this weekend.
