West Ham condemn 'disgusting' video appearing to show fans engaging in anti-Semitic chant and vow swift action

West Ham United have released a statement to strongly condemn a video appearing to show a group of the club's supporters engaging in anti-Semitic chanting in Manchester.

The video, which seems to show fans chanting abuse about London rivals Tottenham on public transport, circulated on social media on Saturday evening following the Hammers' 2-1 Premier League defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

West Ham said they were "disgusted by the contents of the video" and were "taking immediate action to try to identify the offenders", whose details they said they would hand over to the police.

The Hammers added that any individuals identified would be "banned for life from London Stadium and from travelling with the club".

The statement concluded: "West Ham United is unequivocal in its stance – there is no place for this kind of behaviour at our Club.

"We do not want people like this associated with West Ham. They are not welcome at our Club, they are not welcome in civilised society."
