West Ham announce loan transfer departure following £10.1million arrival of Thilo Kehrer

West Ham United have sent forward Thierry Nevers out on loan to League Two side Newport County for the duration of the season.

The Hammers have sent the 20-year-old on loan to League Two Welsh outfit for the season just a year after the club's academy signed him from Championship club Reading.

Nevers has scored eight goals in 18 appearances for the Irons' under-21s side since his arrival last year, scoring in his only appearance in the Papa John's Trophy in a 2-0 win over now League Two side Gillingham.

The loan move comes just a day after the Hammers took their summer spending for the campaign to around £110million, signing defender Thilo Kehrer from Paris Saint-Germain for £10.1m.

Kehrer could make his debut for the Irons on Thursday evening against Danish side Viborg in the qualifying rounds of the Europa Conference League.

Summer arrivals Flynn Downes, Alphonse Areola, Gianluca Scamacca and Flynn Downes will all also hope to make their full debuts for the Hammers during play-off qualifying round first leg tie.
