West Ham and David Moyes have no plans to sell injury-prone duo this summer

West Ham currently have no plans to ditch either Winston Reid or Jack Wilshere once the 2019/20 season is over, at least not at the moment anyway.

Reid is currently on loan at MLS outfit Sporting Kansas City, whose season started at the weekend with a 3-1 victory over Vancouver but the Hammers defender wasn't included in the matchday 18.

Wilshere meanwhile is currently sidelined once again having undergone a hernia operation in February but hasn't played for the first team since October last year.

The former Arsenal midfielder has been unavailable for 62 West Ham matches since he was signed by Manuel Pellegrini on a three-year contract back in the summer of 2018 and still has 15 months to run on his deal.

Reid hasn't played competitively for the Hammers since March 2018 after suffering two successive serious knee injuries, one in a game against Swansea City where he was also knocked unconscious and then again the following pre-season after Pellegrini joined the club as manager.

Football.London has learned that Sporting KC are supporting just 15 per cent of Reid's reported £70,000 a week wages, handed to him after he signed a whopping six-year contract extension back in 2017.

The centre back made a couple of pre-season appearances ahead of the current campaign and also two under-23 outings but struggles to train regularly with the first team and hasn't been considered for a return to competitive action in the Premier League under either Pellegrini or David Moyes.

In the case of Wilshere meanwhile, it has been reported the club could consider cancelling his contract after just 16 appearances in nearly two seasons at the club but those discussions have not taken place at all.
