West Ham 4 Huddersfield 3: Super-sub Chicharito seals stunning London Stadium comeback

Javier Hernandez came off the bench to scored twice as West Ham produced a stunning comeback to come from two goals down to beat Huddersfield 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller at the London Stadium.

Mark Noble put the Hammers ahead from the penalty spot after a quarter of an hour, but Juninho Bacuna's header levelled things up two minutes later.

Huddersfield went ahead when Karlan Ahearne-Grant took advantage of some poor defending to score his first goal for the club.

Ahearne-Grant struck his second of the game with 25 minutes left but late goals from Angelo Ogbonna and Hernandez sealed a dramatic comeback from the Hammers too all but condemn Huddersfield to their impending relegation.

Manuel Pellegrini made three changes from the 2-0 defeat at Cardiff, including bringing back Marko Arnautovic into the starting XI for the first time since January.

And the hosts almost got off to the perfect start when Michail Antonio met Declan Rice's cross but sent his header onto the crossbar.

It didn't take long for West Ham to get another chance to break the deadlock - and this time they succeeded.

Cresswell's free-kick came out to Manuel Lanzini and the Argentinian got to the ball before 18-year-old Aaron Rowe, who clumsily brought him down. Up stepped Noble and he sent Jonas Lossl the wrong way.

From there, it looked like West Ham would be heading for a comfortable home win but in the Premier League, nothing is ever certain.

Just two minutes later, Aaron Mooy swung in a corner and the unmarked Bacuna headed home past Lukasz Fabianski.

The Terriers took a shock lead when Ahearne-Grant took advantage of some poor defending to find the far corner to make it 2-1.

It soon got worse for the home side as Ahearne-Grant struck a wonderful effort into the top corner from 25 yards out and Huddersfield were in dreamland.

West Ham looked shellshocked and Pellegrini sent on Lucas Perez and Samir Nasri in search of a goal.

But it was an unlikely source, Ogbonna, who got them back in it, heading home from Cresswell's corner. And then Hernandez, on as a substitute at half-time, headed home at the far post from Nasri's cross to level it late on.

There was still time for more drama as the Mexican got on the end of Felipe Anderson's cross to steal a dramatic winner which all but condemns the visitors to the Championship.
