The West End production of Frozen has announced a round of open auditions across the UK and Ireland.
London auditions will take place on June 6 and 7 at the Old Diorama Arts Centre near Warren Street station, with more in Glasgow on May 24, Manchester on June 3, Birmingham on June 10, Cardiff on June 13 and Dublin on June 14.
They will be looking to fill six lead roles – Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, Hans and Duke of Weselton – as well as the covers for each of these. The parts call for auditionees in their 20s, except for Weselton, who will be in his 50s.
Hopefuls are asked to bring 16 bars of sheet music for a contemporary musical theatre song, as well as a CV and photo. Callbacks will be contacted by June 29.
Frozen, based on the hit 2013 Disney film of the same name, will open at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in autumn 2020. The show has been created by the same writing team behind the film – Jennifer Lee, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
The musical opened on Broadway in March last year and was nominated for best musical at the Tony Awards.
It tells the story of sisters Anna and Elsa, whose kingdom is stuck in an endless winter because of Elsa's magical ability to turn things to ice and snow. The film went on to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time and won two Academy Awards; a sequel will be released in cinemas this November.
