West end 'liquid deli' Demijohn to close doors after 14 years

A long-standing west end shop is to close its doors after more than a decade.

Demijohn, which describes itself as the "world's first liquid deli", first opened on Byres Road 14 years ago following its first venue in Edinburgh.

They have now announced that the store is to have its final day on Sunday, January 26.

Demijohn sells everything from whisky, wine and other spirits and soft drinks plus oils, dressings, vinegars and jams. All the alcohol is hand-selected and sourced from small producers in the UK while the oils and vinegar are imported from Portugal and other Mediterranean regions.

The eco-friendly shop allows customers to get their bottle refilled for just the cost of the liquid, with the option to reuse the bottle as many times they want.

Although it is closing its Byres Road venue, the store will be still be available online here.
