West end fire: Emergency services tackle blaze at church building

Firefighters have been tackling a "well-developed" blaze at a church building.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was called to Great George Street, in the west end of Glasgow, just after 3am on Sunday.

Six fire engines were sent to the scene, where crews have been working to extinguish the flames at the three-storey building.

There are no casualties.

A spokeswoman for the SFRS said crews were expected to remain in attendance at the scene for some time.

Great George Street is closed off, which is affecting traffic on nearby Byres Road.

Drivers are asked to approach the area with caution.
