A West Dunbartonshire town has beat the likes of Dakota and London in the top ten baby names inspired by locations over the past decade.
Alexandria, on the west of Scotland, was crowned the seventh most popular name for girls based on countries and cities.
The unlikely choice, which is also the name of the second-largest city in Egypt, has been given to 41,006 babies in the UK and US over the last 20 years, according to new research by FlowerCard.
Scotland's town of Alexandria has a population of around 13,000, while its Egyptian namesake has 5.2 million people - so it's likely most parents gained inspiration from the African port city.
However, that isn't to say mums and dads haven't been inspired by the Scottish town, which is nestled on the River Leven.
Location names have been a popular choice for celebrities such Paris Hilton, Dakota Johnson, Brooklyn Beckham and Chicago West.

To pull the data together, Flowercard used baby name lists from Baby Center, Closer and Disney to compile a collection of 100 names inspired by towns, cities, regions, countries and continents across the globe.
These names were then compared to government records to find the number of children born in the UK and the US between years 2000 and 2019.
