West Dunbartonshire is the McDonald’s capital of Scotland.
The district has more branches of the fast-food restaurant per head than anywhere else in the country, according to a new analysis.
The study used the company’s branch locator to pinpoint the location of all 1,296 McDonald’s in the UK.
It then used the most recent population figures published by the Office for National Statistics to work out which local authorities have the most - and fewest - McDonald’s per head.
It turns out West Dunbartonshire really loves the golden arches.
Ferguslie Park gang fight: four men stabbed and slashed
The district has a total of four McDonalds, or one for every 22,465 people who live there.
Glasgow came a distant second, with one McDonalds for every 32,372 residents.
Dundee (one for every 37,068 residents) was third, Angus (one for every 38,840) fourth, and Edinburgh (one for every 39,013) was fifth.
Aberdeenshire was the most McDonald’s starved place in Scotland, with just two branches serving a population of 262,190.
Across the UK as a whole, central London has the most McDonald’s per head.
That is, however, somewhat misleading, as far more people work there than live there.

Among major UK cities, Manchester - with one McDonald’s for every 28,490 residents - is particularly keen on it’s cheap burgers. Bristol - with one branch for every 75,994 - has the fewest.
