West Dunbartonshire foodbank volunteers busier than ever organising toybank gifts

West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare has also been busy preparing for Christmas, delivering emergency food parcels and organising their toybank appeal.

Clair Coyle said: “We are limited in the number of staff and volunteers we can have in the base at any one time so everyone has been working longer hours to ensure anyone in need is supported.

“We are currently still delivering emergency food parcels as our distribution centres are closed.

“The response to our Christmas appeal has been wonderful. Educational establishments, local businesses, churches, supermarkets, shops, council employees, groups, families and individuals from West Dunbartonshire and beyond.

"We cannot thank you all enough for your wonderful and generous donations, which help us to make life that bit easier for the many people who are struggling, especially in this year of Covid.”

The toybank appeal is in its sixth year and has already exceeded last year’s figure of providing for 940 children, with toybags still being packed.
