A 21-year-old man remains critically ill in hospital after the quad bike he was riding smashed into a wall.
The crash happened shortly before 5pm yesterday on Baycliff Road in West Derby and brought emergency services rushing to the scene.
An air ambulance landed nearby and the man was taken to hospital with head and leg injuries.
This morning, police said his condition was still critical and he was fighting for his life.
No other vehicles are said to have been involved in the crash.
A road closure was put in place and Baycliff Road remains closed between its junctions with Playfield Road and South Cantril Avenue.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said yesterday: "We are appealing for information after a quad bike was in collision with a wall in West Derby earlier today (Tuesday, March 30).
"It was reported the collision happened shortly before 5pm on Baycliff Road, near its junction with Playfield Road.
"The rider of the quad bike, a 21-year-old man, was taken to hospital with head and leg injuries.
"His condition is described as critical.
