West Bromwich Albion receive managerial blow, Leeds United agree fee for new signing - Championship rumours

Wagner may head home

West Brom’s managerial hopes seem to have suffered a blow as former Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner has spoken about his future, telling the Times that a return to his homeland to manage in the Bundesliga is appealing.

Sacked by the Terriers earlier this season, Wagner has been out of football since but is among a host of names to be linked with the vacant managerial position at West Brom following Darren Moore’s dismissal.

Leeds are looking 'Well

Leeds United are closing in on an addition as Football Insider reports the Peacocks have agreed a six-figure fee with Motherwell to beat Southampton to the services of 16-year-old talent Stuart McKinstrey.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have reportedly fought with a number of clubs for the signature of the teenager but it is now stated that Leeds have won the chase, paying a fee of £400,000 to bring the Scotland prodigy to Elland Road.

He may not be the only imminent deal for Leeds though, as Football Insider also reports that Bielsa has given the green light for Leeds to complete a deal for Reading midfielder John Swift - regardless of what division they are in.

Owls want £8m for Joao

Sheffield Wednesday could see a significant departure this summer as the Sun on Sunday claims that Steve Bruce is ready to offload Portuguese forward Lucas Joao but wants a high fee for the striker.

The Owls are commanding a figure of £8m for the 25-year-old, who has scored nine goals this season but has been absent for the last few months due to injury.

QPR ramp up seach for new boss

Sticking with the managerial theme, Football.London reports Queens Park Rangers have made contact with a manager in the second tier of French football - current Troyes boss Rui Almeida.

The Portuguese boss has caught the eye this season after impressive performances in Ligue 2 with Troyes and was linked with a move to League One promotion-chasers Barnsley in January.
