West Bromwich Albion eyeing up £3m move for Bristol City defender Taylor Moore

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly set their sights on a £3m move for Bristol City defender Taylor Moore.

The centre-back joined the Robins from Lens in 2016 and is highly rated by fans, but he is yet to nail down a place in City's first-team squad.

Moore's most regular taste of first-team football came in the first half of this season, when he made 24 appearances for the Robins.

Yet the 22-year-old was also substituted on a regular basis, and he was eventually sent out on loan to League One Blackpool for the second half of the campaign, with City bringing on Filip Benkovic as a ball-playing centre-half on loan from Leicester City.

Moore has impressed at Bloomfield Road, though, in what is his fourth loan away from City.

The decision to send Moore on loan again in January could be seen as a blow to the player, who had earlier in the season revealed his delight at finally winning a place in City's first-team squad.

"I feel like I’m back and I’m here to stay," he told the Guardian. "This is where I want to be in the long run and this is where I want to develop.

"I did absolutely everything I could this summer to show the manager, staff and the players that I am good enough."

Football Insider now report that Slaven Bilic's Baggies are keen on signing Moore.

West Brom are said to have lined him up as a leading target ahead of the next transfer window, with scouts incredibly impressed by his performance at Blackpool.

Moore is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract at City after he signed a new deal last summer - whilst the Robins tend to add an option of a further year into players' deals, there was no such announcement when Moore penned his new contract.

There is also said to be interest from other Championship clubs, with Premier League sides also keeping tabs on Moore's situation.

With Ashley Williams' contract set to expire in the summer and doubts over Benkovic's future at Leicester City, the Robins may well be faced with a dilemma if a club submit a bid for Moore.
