'West Brom paying £8m for Zohore from Cardiff City shows we aren't asking too much' - What Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday fans think of Lucas Joao

Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday fans have been reacting to the news that Lucas Joao is a target for the Robins.

Bristol Live understands the Robins are keen on the striker, who netted nine goals in 31 Championship games last season.

Yet City would have to pay around £8m to take him - and some Robins fans feel they should be looking at someone more prolific.

Bucky BCFC: We should sign him just to stop his obligatory goals against us.

Sheffield Wednesday striker Lucas Joao

JH: From what I’ve seen he has quality but very, very inconsistent. A bit like O’Dowda.

Jon Roche: Twenty-five goals in 114 games for them. We need someone who gets 20-25 a season not every 100 odd games.

Dave Evans: Not really a 20+ goal scorer. Is he a target man alternative to Moore?

Rob: Why aren't we looking at Vydra?

Phil Western: Nine in 31? No thanks.

Jack Webber: I don't know a lot about him but it seems like he's the best of what we can get.

Matt Street: If it means he can't score against us again then I'm all for it.

Stephen Goodfield: Doesn't get me too excited looking at his record.

Edward Waddell: Lucas Joao would provide good competition for Diedhiou this season.

Joao is believed to have handed in a transfer request at Hillsborough, and some Owls fans are at ease at the prospect of seeing him leave.

Mark: Looks your best player on highlight reels but not when you watch week in, week out.

Joseph O: Please take him.

Mike Norton: I'd be interested to know how much we've been offered for Joao.

Eggy: West Brom signing Zohore for £8m is why Wednesday aren't asking too much for Joao.

Hooty Owl: If Joao wants to leave he needs to put himself in the shop window by turning up to games instead of wandering around like it's a chore.

Grant Roberts: Joao is inconsistent. Cash in while we can.

Richard Smith: Considering we have Rhodes, Fletcher, Winnall, Forestieri and Nuhui, I'm more than happy to see Joao leave, especially if we can get a bit of cash for him.
