West Brom could go in for Celtic's Kris Ajer if they can't get Shane Duffy

West Brom are reportedly interested in Kris Ajer, as they also battle Celtic for Shane Duffy's signature.

Slaven Bilic's side are looking to strengthen for their Premier League return, with the Baggies keen to reinforce a defence which conceded almost a goal a game in the Championship.

West Brom are believed to be keen on Duffy, but Brighton may be unwilling to sell to a rival.

As a result,  The Athletic  reports the West Midlands outfit are considering alternative options and one of those is  Celtic  star Ajer.

It's reported the English club have made their interest clear, but the asking price for the Norwegian international could prove a stumbling block.

There is plenty of interest in the centre-back, with Leicester City and Milan also linked.

Celtic are likely to ask for close to £20million for one of their best prospects, with West Brom unlikely to pay that in a straight cash deal.

Other potential targets include Huddersfield’s Karlan Grant, Grady Diangana of West Ham and Benfica defender Filip Krovinovic.

There is also the possibility of doing a swap deal that would see Oliver Burke move to Sheffield United while Callum Robinson heads the other way.
