West Brom boss says Nottingham Forest 'are dreaming' as he makes promotion claim

Nottingham Forest are always “dreaming about something”, according to West Bromwich Albion boss Slaven Bilic, who reckons the Reds have it easier than his team in the promotion race.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side came away with a 2-2 draw from their trip to The Hawthorns last weekend, leaving them in fifth place, eight points behind the league-leading Baggies.

Leeds United make up the second automatic promotion spot, four points in front of Forest.

Bilic, though, believes it is “easier” to be in the play-off places at this stage of the season than it is to be in the top two, as the pressure is less intense.

“There is no point talking about the gap or Leeds,” Bilic told Birmingham Live. “We have to approach things game by game.

“It is much easier to be third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, than first or second. They are dreaming.

“If you read about Forest, they are dreaming, they are hoping to get in the top two.

“But when you are top two you have to (win promotion). That is a pressure you have to cope with.

“It is easier with everything you do to be average. But if you want to be the best journalist, the best actor, the best surgeon, it takes sacrifice.

“Of course you wouldn’t swap, of course you wouldn’t, but it is easier.

“If you go to the Forest website, or any team chasing us, it’s always about them dreaming about something. Dreaming, hoping. Brentford hoping, this one dreaming. Third is dreaming, the second one has to (achieve promotion).

“It is like that, but nobody would swap. They would swap with us.”
